Students in Mrs. Tierneys class were introduced to STEM bins this week. STEM bins introduce concepts of engineering and design in the form of play. Our class has bins that cover science and math as well as engineering. The students loved this activity.

This week in reading one of our comprehension strategies is visualization. Students in Mrs. Tierney's class listened to parts of a poem, and drew what they imagined as it was being read. The students then shared their pictures with their classmates.

Lunch with Ms. Ryan our school counselor. These young men are full of good questions even during lunch.

There will be no school on Monday, September 2, 2024 in celebration of Labor Day.

Snow cones are the best way to cool down on a sweltering day! Thank you!!!

Ms. Moon's class completed a challenge this week. It was to empty the toothpaste tube completely. Then they had to only use toothpicks to put the toothpaste back in the tube as a team. Students learned it is much easier to speak unkind words to others than it is to take them back. It was a great lesson on choosing to be kind.

Second grade got to enjoy lots of treats!!

It's not an everyday thing to eat our math activity. Students are learning about place value by using Cheez Its, pretzel sticks, and M&Ms.

The Sno Cones were delicious!! We appreciate it so much!

We ❤️ Sno Cones!!

First counselor lunch of the new year.

Ms. Moon's class celebrated National Dog day by meeting our school therapy dog Sophia. She was so excited to meet her new friends and see her other friends. Her reward was a pup cup for doing so well on her first day back.

They are playing Uno Zones. It is played like Uno only after you lay your card down they have to answer the question. Each color has a different color. Red- what makes you mad, yellow-what makes you silly or excited, Blue- what makes you sad and green- what makes you happy.

They are looking at different scenarios and deciding if it’s a small, medium, or big problem and what they should do.

They are playing a dice game that asks questions about yourself so others can learn about you.

The Second Grade Team is ready to dive into a great year!!!

2nd day of school is cool!

Ms. Perez’s class learning all about each other through Play-Doh!

Ms. Moon's class read "Our Class is a Family" and made friendship bracelets to celebrate all of our new friends. We had a great start to our year!
