
PHS art students in Ms. Vincent's class made plaster casts of their hands Friday. This week students will use the casts to create art by altering the hand to turn it into something else or do something that places the hand in a different environment.

The Vikings drop their varsity football game to KC-Christ Prep 6-52. They will be back in action against Baxter Springs this Friday for Homecoming.

The annual Parsons High School "Apply Kansas" event is scheduled for Tuesday, October 7th. Apply Kansas is a statewide campaign in which high schools host an event to help seniors apply to college. The purpose of Apply Kansas is to increase the number of students applying, enrolling, and succeeding in college or other post-secondary endeavors.
To gear up for Apply Kansas, the PHS faculty and staff took part in the "Why Apply?" Day September 19th by sharing why they think students should apply for continuing education opportunities. The Parsons Vikings Soccer Team played hard against Chanute Thursday, though they lost the game 1-6.

PHS Girls Golf is in action again today at the Countryside Golf Club in Pittsburg for their JV tournament. We are trying to beat the arrival of the afternoon storm! Go Vikes!

Some projects have to be worked on by every automotive class. This 1968 Camaro came in for control arm bushings. Looks like it'll need some brake work and ball joints. The traction bars and mono leaf rear suspension rasied some questions.









The PHS Girls Golf team hosted a home tournament at the Katy golf club today, with freshman Kayleigh Leon scoring a personal best 59, good for a 7th place medal. Go Vikes!





Congratulations to the 2025 Parsons High School Homecoming Queen Candidates. PHS has a long tradition of recognizing a representative from each student organization. This year there are 20 nominees. Coronation will be held Friday, September 26th at 6:30 p.m. at Marvel Park Football Stadium. Join us to see who is named this year's royalty!



Inter-State Studio was at Parsons High School Wednesday taking pictures of students and staff for keepsake, yearbook and IDs.

The Junior Varsity Vikings football team dropped a hard fought game this evening to Ft. Scott 6-26. Varsity will be back in action this Saturday at 3:30 at KC- Christ Prep.
