
Students had the opportunity to visit Neosho County Community College this a Friday, April 4th. The gloomy weather was a stark contrast to the bright future any student would have when attending NCCC. This group took a special interest in the career technical programs such as Industrial Maintenance, Plumbing, and HVAC.





Reminder! Both Cheerleading and Dance Team Tryouts will be held this Saturday, April 5th beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Parsons High School. Please arrive shortly before then & enter through the community room doors at the northwest end of the building. Participants should be dressed in athletic wear and tennis shoes. For anyone who has not yet picked up a parent/guardian waiver to be signed, please do so from the Main Office to ensure you're able to participate. Waivers can be turned in Saturday morning at registration. GO VIKES!

Surrounded by family and teammates, PHS Senior Saylah Rea, who finished her high school volleyball career with 1,071 assists, signed to play this fall with Cottey College , a private women's college in Nevada, Mo. , owned and supported by the P.E.O. Sisterhood.

Tennis scheduled for today in Independence has been postponed due to weather. We will announce once a rescheduled date has been determined.

Cole Kennett, PHS Junior, job shadowed with Evergy on Wednesday, April 2 as part of his College & Career Explorations course. All juniors will be taking part in a one-day job shadowing experience May 1st, but as part of the CCE curriculum, students have additional opportunities.




Today's baseball game has been moved to Girard due to field conditions. This will be one varsity game only starting at 4:30.

Mrs Moore's English 10 classes are getting up and about today with stations regarding their current novel, Just Mercy. Tomorrow is State Testing for ELA, so movement today!!



State powerlifting records for Class 3A have been updated. Autumn Sands now holds 3 of them. Her clean, squat and total weight would also be state records in Classes 4A-6A. Congrats Autumn!


We're going to Nationals! Our Vikings competed to punch their ticket for Nationals last night and we now have 4 qualifiers. Tshijinnie & Manning will be competing in Lincoln Douglas Debate. Armitage and Taliaferro will complete their senior journey competing together in PFD.

PHS Welding I students are working on personal projects right now, like Blake Blevins, who is welding angular, geometric shapes of metal together to make a deer head, and Makayla Farro-Getman, whose own deer head is made of cut pieces of silverware welded to an armature.

PHS Prom is only 13 days away, and students and adult sponsors continue to be hard at work daily behind the scenes making all the decor the "Sweet Soiree" themed event, and organizing for the after prom activities.
